St Patrick’s Day Press Release – Green with Envy
Pupils at Youlgrave All Saints’ C of E celebrated St Patrick’s Day on the 17th March with a full day of activities. All the staff and pupils wore green outfits for the day, lots of art and craftwork took place following an act of Collective Worship dedicated to the Saint and his work. The catering staff even provided Irish stew and shamrock cake to add to the authenticity of the day.
Mrs Jackson, Headteacher, said “As the school is named All Saints’ I am trying to improve the children’s knowledge of Saints and what they actually did, so by having special days hopefully we are making them more memorable for all. It was lovely to see how much effort everyone put into their outfits – we even had some leprechauns around the school. The fact that we were able to be creative with the Dinner menu was quite literally the icing on the cake!”
