School Dinners

Youlgrave School Dinners win GOLD!

Youlgrave School has won a gold award for the all-round quality of its food, including
pupil satisfaction. The award was presented to the Cook, Mrs Heather Wood, at a special ceremony hosted by Derbyshire County Council Catering Service at the end of last term at
Chapel-en-le-Frith. The gold award also covers other aspects such as food service, health and safety, hygiene and customer care.
Headteacher Fiona Jackson said: “This award is richly deserved by Mrs Wood and the catering staff at our
school. Not only are our school dinners top quality, the children receive service with a smile and eat in friendly surroundings. A total of 70 out of 75 children have a school dinner which says it all.”

A glass of chilled, semi-skimmed milk and drinking water is always available.

In Derbyshire we have put a great deal of time, effort and money into creating healthy menus and promoting the healthy choices to pupils. We also want to provide parents with all the information they need about school dinners and that is why we have developed this website.

Our menus are on a three weekly cycle and include vegetarian options. If your child has any special dietary requirements then please speak your child's school. All our menus meet the current Government nutritional standards.

Please note that sometimes our cooks have to make menu changes at short notice (for instance if there is a problem with food deliveries) but we aim to keep this to a minimum.
